Some houses are like great stories, where the chapters have been unsorted and the sentences scrambled; you recognize it has value but you cannot yet read it. What we enjoy is putting those houses back in order, so that they connect to the land and the experience unfolds in a way that has meaning, clarity and joy. Our ultimate goal in design is to free up what is assumed to be absolute. Often it is the moving of an entry or making the outside livable that impacts the most.
